Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

1964, D: Stanley Kubrick S: Stanley Kubrick, Terry Southern, Peter George

I Watched this Peter Sellers tour de force with former housemates Dave and Katy. Katy said, "I thought this was supposed to be funny," and, you gotta admit, as black comedies go, this one's pretty black. Gripping though. It still packs quite a wallop, even though in this day and age immediate nuclear annihilation seems less likely than it did at the time. I'd love to hear from anyone who saw this film in its original theatrical release; seems like it must have been devastating.
